Lazy-eyed Grace

I just thought of this... I should have my picture on here be me sleeping. Because it's a dream log. I'll probably do that soon.

Anyway.

Dream.

In the first part of the dream, I was at both MPulse and the Eastern Michigan Univ. equivalent of MPulse, and I had normal MPulse all covered but I couldn't find a piece to play at the masterclass Eastern. (This part is kind of stress-dream-y) So I resorted to getting out my excerpt book and playing the Mendelssohn scherzo excerpt, but first I couldn't double-tongue or single tongue fast enough at all, then the pages got wet and started falling apart in my hands, and the whole excerpt book was ruined.

Shifting ahead to the next part of the dream, I was at a marching band camp-type thing. For a really good marching band, which I was in. My friend Chuck was there, and by Chuck I'm talking about a real live person who I know named Chuck, not the T.V. show character who does seem to crop up in my dreams a lot. So Chuck is in college for music, and he was supposed to be conducting one of our pieces, a standard marching band song, and I know that when I was in the dream I distinctly knew what song it was and what it sounded like but I now cannot think of it.

I ended up distracting him, though, and he almost missed when he was supposed to conduct. The reason I was distracting him was because one of my eyes had decided to stray off to the side earlier that day, so it was pointing in a completely different direction from my other eye.

However, in the dream there was a thing that someone with a lazy or crossed eye could put in their eye to make it point forward, it was this little black plastic square-looking thing that fit onto your eye and was a little bigger than a pupil. When someone looked at me they could see it on my eye, but it didn't take up the whole eye and at least my eyes were both pointing forward. I remember taking it off and putting it back on occasionally, and the feeling of one eye pointing a different direction was very distinct, part of my vision was clear and another part was just a fuzz. Chuck was quite empathetic with me about my lazy eye, I think in the dream he may have had the same thing happen to him previously.

Then the dream shifted gears quickly, as my dreams always do. I was now at my high school, which was a combination of my school, Boyfriend's school, and part of the my high school that I completely dreamed up in my dream last night, which I was too lazy to record because it was pretty short and insignificant.

Anyway, we were at my high school but something was really wrong. Before I realized something was wrong, I saw Mr. Reinhard and Gina P., which was weird because neither of them should be at the high school anymore. But after I saw them, I started to find out about all this weird stuff. There were adults, adults who I didn't know, around in the school.

There was something horrible going on, the adults were taking over the school and capturing students or something, because I would see a pair of students sitting or standing around, and one of them would suddenly disappear in a flash of light. I didn't know where the disappearing students were going. Kevin and I decided to investigate.

There was a black guy with facial hair, kind of scrawny, not really the taking-over type sitting at a table inside the school, in the room where I was. I think it may have been the auditorium. I had heard from someone or figured out myself that if you happened to say the right thing and appear completely honest, the guy would let you go somewhere where the injured and disappearing students were going. I walked up to him and told him that I had been with my friend, Matthew Jacob (who really is a student at our school who I know of but am not friends with) when he had gotten a concussion and I wanted to see if he was okay. I knew that Matt really had gotten a concussion because I had seen it happen from a distance.

On a side note, at this point my eyes were both pointing forward on their own and I didn't need my eye-pointer-forward-thing.

Anyway, Kevin had also said that he was with Matt, but he got turned away. I guess he wasn't as convincing as I was. Where I ended up going was a gym-like room with white tile floor. There was a small orchestra and a huge choir rehearsing together in it. The orchestra was my school orchestra (which doesn't exist, by the way, we only have a band) and there was an older, heavy woman conducting. She looked kind of like Barbara. I ran up and started getting upset that no one had called me for rehearsal, as I was presumably the first-chair flutist. It looked like there was a complete flute section without me, though, which made me really angry because I've been feeling pretty insecure lately.

The lady conducting was an intruder, one of the adults, and I decided to start undermining her conducting and messing the orchestra and choir up. I think that the musicians were not completely taken over and they understood that I was trying to rebel and followed me when I jumped in front of the lady and started conducting super fast. I slowed down and sped up crazily, expecting to be stopped by the woman soon, but she had a blank expression on her face and just kept conducting robotically behind me. I started jumping every once in a while while conducting, indicating a cymbal crash or a big hit or something. I was having a lot of fun, but the conductor and musicians were still eerily blank, although some of the musicians and singers began jumping when I jumped, just for fun.

At this point, my mom walked into my room and asked me to endorse two checks, which was in real life, so I was forced to wake up and never found out if or when I found out what the mysterious adults were doing or stopped them. I'm still not sure what I wrote on those checks.
