Woohoo! I'm finally having really complicated dreams again!
This dream was pretty awesome. Except that I was in jail for most of it. Still.
So the dream started out with me in jail. I still don't know how I ended up there, but a disturbing number of people I knew were there with me. Also, this whole dream was taking place in the past, when I was a freshman or sophomore.

I'm in jail, and I came across several people I know, one of them being this guy named Kyle whom I used to have an enormous-stalker-crush on. However, when I talked to him it was suddenly present-day, but only for a moment. We were chatting together, in jail, like it was no big deal, and I told him that he looked like Paul Dano from "Little Miss Sunshine" because he kind of does, but I couldn't remember the name of the movie at first and said "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" before correcting myself. (Both are excellent movies.) Then I said, "Remember when I asked you out and you said no and I cried for like a week?" to see if it was long enough ago that he wasn't weirded out anymore, but I think he still was. I apologize that this paragraph was really unintelligent-sounding. I hate it, but that's how it went in my dream.
Then, it was St. Patrick's Day in jail and I spent what feels like a couple hours locating and changing into some green clothing. Then I watched some T.V., including an episode of Fringe.
A little later, I came across one of my jailers, who turned out to be my current band director, (whom I do not like) and got into a squabble with him which turned into a huge, physical fight that involved several other inmates in our attempt to escape. Right at the beginning of the fight, he pulled out a syringe full of sedative and stuck it into my arm (which hurt like a bitch, even in my dream) but it had no effect on me, and I snatched it out of his hand. Then I squirted all of the sedative out everywhere so that the syringe was empty, and we spent several minutes trying to stab each other with it.
At this point during the fight, my second piercing on my left earlobe somehow got ripped and started bleeding, and the band director became very fat, like something I did made his whole body swell up. The fight ended fairly suddenly, and I'm not sure of the outcome, but the scene changed quickly.
I was suddenly outside on a beach at Lake Michigan, on a jail field trip. (I'm pretty confident that jails do not go on field trips.) The water was looking choppy, so I turned to our chaperone/jailer lady, who was an older woman, and expressed my concern. She said not to worry, that she could calm it down, and she brought a bunch of small children riding huge buffalo (I'm not kidding, I actually dreamed this) down to the beach and had them ride the buffalo into the water, which calmed the water down.

Everybody's got a water buffalo, yours is fast but mine is slow...
Then, because it was three or four years ago, Ethan was still alive and there on the beach with me suddenly. I knew in my dream that he is gone now, and that I was in the past, so I quickly grabbed him up and hugged him. It was very, very nice.
After that, I got released from jail and was being sent back to school with some of my friends who had been in jail with me, including Kam, her friend Lucy, and I'm pretty sure the Fredal girls.
We got put through this little test to determine what we would be doing in school, and then we were sent back to RHS. When I got there, it was my sophomore year.
I went to my band class, it was outside on the marching field. I didn't know Mr. R (old band director who I actually like) because I had never been in his class before, I'd been in jail. I also didn't know how to march because I had missed band camp.
I went up to him and he told me to go in the back with the flutes. I also hinted to him that I'm really good at flute, so he put me near the front of the line. The sections were color-coded, and I distinctly remember seeing the orange trumpets in front of me, and there was a girl trumpeter who had gone all-out and even colored her hair orange. The flutes were green, and I sat down on a low stone wall behind them to watch them rehearse because I didn't know how to march yet.
That's how the dream ends, and it was a fairly good dream overall. When I woke up, my earlobe was throbbing.
