Anna Franna

This dream was a little more than disturbing.

I remember that myself and several kids from my school were all gathered at this subway station sort of place. We were hanging around for unknown reasons for a while, and the hall monitors and vice principal were repeatedly warning us to stay away from this circular grate that was on the platform, because steam shot out from it periodically and it was hot enough to seriously burn us.

We were all staying away from the grate, obviously, since none of us wanted to be horribly burned.

However, as I was standing there among the other students, I saw my friend Anna wander onto the platform and then onto the grate. I yelled out for her to move, it was dangerous for her to be standing there. I yelled and yelled, but Anna didn't hear me.

All of a sudden, a steady flow of steam began shooting out of the grate and right onto Anna, whirling her dress around Marilyn Monroe-style. I started screaming to move out of the steam, she was going to get burned, but Anna didn't respond to me and didn't appear to be concerned about the searing steam that was billowing around her.

Finally, she stumbled out of the pillar of steam, but didn't jump over to safety, where we were all standing. Instead, she dropped down into a pit of machinery that was under the tracks.

I continued to shout for her to get to safety, but she was walking casually among the flames and sparks and machinery below the tracks. She was apparently looking for her lost shoe.

Finally, the choir director from my school went in after her to save her. Just as he approached her, she fell off of a piece of equipment and smacked her head on another machine, falling unconscious into his arms.

The end.
