Weirdness Within the Salvation Army

This is from a REALLY long time ago. I just found it.

This dream started out quite relevant to my real life, I was working on my decade paper for Sociology class and was going to the Salvation Army before orchestra rehearsal to try and turn my blue dress into a 1910's style dress. (This seemed plausible in my dream, but if you saw my blue dress you'd wonder how in the world I was going to do that.)

I walked into the Salvation Army with a couple members of my family, I believe, and we started looking around when a strange-looking lady showed up. She looked like a burn victim, her face was very pale with red blotches on it and she was wearing some weird headdress that was irrelevant to looking like a burn victim. She was just shopping around, but apparently thought that lots of people were staring at her, because she decided to loudly tell everyone what was wrong with her, just to clear up all questions.

She made us come over by her and explained that she had been burned and that's why she looked so different. She mentioned something about her husband, but then a couple minutes later told us she was in a lesbian marriage.

(This is where I started suspecting that she was just faking. I'm all for gay marriage, but this one was kind of strange.)

She told us that she was going to introduce us to her wife, and this Indian (like from India not Native American) midget woman walked out from behind something. She was wearing a purple tunic-thing with gold lining and there were a couple other women with her, and they were acting all sassy and defiant, as if we were all going to try and attack them. It really bothered me, because I dislike people who assume they have to be super-defiant.

At this point, I left the store and walked to my mini-van, and saw this guy I know named Zack on the way there. (Completely unrelated to dream.)

I got to the van and got into the trunk to play with my laptop. (I don't have one.)

Then there was this long, complex sequence explaining how the lady in the Salvation Army got burned by these pills that mess with your heart, and my sub-conscious mind made up a bunch of words and my friend Josh was involved.

The end. I hope your brain doesn't hurt from reading all of this craziness.

Oh, Gerard!

So I'm in this grocery store with my dad, and I don't remember what we were shopping for but I think I must've been hungry in my sleep because there were copious amounts of food involved.

We're walking through the grocery store and we see this guy I had a HUGE crush on throughout my freshman and sophomore years of high school, Kyle. He's kind of snooty now and I'm not a huge fan of his anymore, (hopefully he won't be reading this) but I would probably still get a little shy and goofy around him.

Kyle didn't see us, and I didn't really want to get involved in a conversation with him, so we just went about our business and then went to leave the store, but of course my dad noticed Kyle and decided to say something, so as we were leaving he goes, "Bye, Gerard."

Which, obviously, does not make sense because Kyle's name is Kyle, not Gerard.

It made me think of my AP English teacher, though, because she loves Gerard Butler. Speaking of Gerard Butler.

Cousin

I had a dream in which I relived the day my cousin died. There were a few differences, but it was still horrible.

Guinea Pig

In this dream several crazy things happened, but unfortunately, I barely remember any of them.

There was a very vivid part where my mom handed me a present, and when I opened it I found a guinea pig inside! It looked exactly like my old guinea pig, Pokey, but was the colors of my current dog. As the dream progressed, another guinea pig that looked just like one of my other old guinea pigs, Taffy, appeared but with my dog's colors also.

NPH FTW

This dream must've been a record for the most dream packed into the fewest hours of sleep.

I'm running late for school and I dash into the building after the bell has rung. I run to my first hour, sociology, only to find Mr. C's room and the hallway around it being inexpicably rained on and starting to flood. I had to search around for where my class was, and I found them in the library on their laptops.

However, I decided I didn't want to go to class, so I wandered to the band room. When I got there, I promptly got in a fight with Mr. G and was kicked out.

I spent a significant amount of time wandering around the school, (which isn't unusual for me) until I ran into some choir kids who were about to leave for choir festival. (Which they really did have today.) However, in my dream, choir festival was in China.

I somehow got myself onto the bus to China (yes, a bus) with the choir and Anna and I got off when we got there and walked into the building.

We were for some reason wearing our prom dresses, and as we were walking past a mall-food-court-style restaurant, we suddenly spotted NEIL PATRICK HARRIS ordering at the register!

We freaked out, naturally, and swarmed him as much as two people can swarm someone. (The prom dresses helped.) We were begging for a picture with him, but he refused and ran away.

Anna and I chased him through the building, and finally, we were so annoying that he consented to be in a picture with us.

Of course, something had to go wrong, and it turns out I had turned the camera onto video instead of camera, so we ended up with a roughly ten-second-long video of Anna and I posing with an uncomfortable NPH instead of a picture.

After this, stuff got really weird and really scary really fast.

Anna and NPH disappeared, and I was alone in China. In my dream, China was a horrible, violent place with a seriously crazy leader.

I was wandering around outside (I did a lot of wandering in this dream) when a psycho with a red ax started chasing me around and there was a bunch of creepy apocalyptic-looking stuff going on.

Finally, I found my parents, who had driven to China in my minivan. They told me that they were heading out, and they were going to come home with me and the choir on the school bus.

I asked them how we were going to get my van home if they were taking the bus home. They told me we'd go back to China and get it later.

That was pretty much the end. I seem to be very worried about my van lately, because it's been showing up in my dreams frequently.

Here's a question you should ask yourself every day.

Grace and Connor fail miserably.

I decided that any posts containing both me and Connor will have titles like this. (Refer back to "Grace and Connor are in a musical.")

Connor and I are conducting at a football game, and it's already getting weird. We have a guest marching band marching with our own, a school wearing green and white uniforms. Our school uniforms are suddenly all red and white (usually red and black) and the drumline is wearing all three, red, green, and white.

I was in something casual I think, because it was supposed to be a rehearsal, but when I looked over at Connor he was all decked out in our full uniform and I started getting mad because it made me look sloppy.

When I started the band, my mouth was so dry that the whistle was really weak. (I've been having dry mouth issues lately.) I wasn't sure if they would start or not, but they did and started playing "I Want You Back." I was conducting, but I started swaying on my ladder like I was dizzy. The ladder began to sway too, dipping down almost to the ground, but so far out in front of me that when it did I was in the middle of the field with the marchers.

At this point my clothes turned into my full uniform. The ladder continued to sway, and I stepped off of it when it almost reached the ground, but immediately ran into a marcher from the guest band because I was in the middle of the field.

I then tripped over a saxophone and my pants fell down. I stopped conducting, lying on the ground in a heap, deciding it was useless. The band stopped playing and moving altogether, and everyone was generally just standing there in silence.

I suddenly wondered why Connor was not still conducting. I looked over to him and reached out my hand to hit him, but when I did he fell down and turned into nothing but a pile of clothing. No person, just clothing.

It was a horrible, horrible dream.

Tron, iPads, and IV tubes.

This a dream from earlier in the week, 3-8-11.

The dream started out as me waking up in the morning and telling my dad I didn't want to go to school. He agreed right away, which was surprising to me, but he told me that I had thrown up during the night and I must not remember it.

I stayed home, but then I went looking for my mom and home suddenly shifted into the high school, therefore defeating the purpose of me staying home in the first place.

I found my mom in a weird part of the high school that I'd never seen before. (I'm really good at adding strange new additions to the high school in my dreams.) It looked like the old annex of my church mixed with an old person's house. I think I actually saw an old person, too.

Then the dream took a completely different turn, and that end of the story was never really tied up.

I was in a hospital gown outside of a hospital, with one of those little ports for an IV in my arm, all taped down and such, but no IV tube or bag. It was just like the time I had salmonella and needed an IV, except I was confused as to why I was in (or rather, outside) the hospital for just vomiting once. I quickly left and met up with my friend Rosie at the mall.

I drove us there and parked my minivan in a parking garage, and when we were done shopping, we went back to the garage to find that my van had been stolen! (I've grown rather attached to it over the years.) We ran around looking for it, then went back to the scene of the crime where we found it returned unharmed. However, some things were missing from inside of it. I looked up to see an old man walking away, putting my GPS inside a messenger bag over his shoulder.

I caught up with him and grabbed the GPS away and also found my iPad (I don't really have an iPad) in his bag.

After this, Rosie and I drove to my friend Kyle's house. I still had the hospital gown and IV port, only now an IV tube inexplicably showed up. No bag, just a tube. It was really annoying and was always getting in the way.

We got to Kyle's house and went inside, then suddenly had to leave in a big hurry. (I don't remember why.) We were running out to the van and it was getting dark, and suddenly a flash mob began forming between us and the van. It was a bunch of people who were wearing lighted-up suits that looked like they were from Tron, dancing right in our way, and more and more people kept joining.

Normally I would have thought this was awesome, but I really needed to get to my van and I got even more annoyed when one of the Tron-dancers grabbed my cell phone away from me and threw it.

The dream pretty much ended there.

Funny Story and then Zombies.

So this first story is something that actually happened, and I find it somewhat laughable.
I woke up at 6:15 this morning to a deep voice saying, "Listen to me... very... carefully." I realized it was my dad, standing just inside my doorway with the lights still off. I started freaking out, imagining some sort of doomsday scenario in which the two of us were being forced to escape the house in secret in order to survive.
However, he went on to say, "School. is. cancelled." Very slowly like that, too. At first I was like, "What?!"
Not because I hadn't heard him, but because I was surprised. He repeated himself again very slowly. I said something like, "Really?" and he said it again, and then a few more times in the exact same tone of voice. I finally turned on my light and told him I had heard him the first time, because apparently he thinks I'm a huge, deaf idiot when I first wake up.
Anyway, it was strange but pretty funny. I think he was more tired than I was.

----------------------------UPDATE--------------------------------------------------
My dad swears this did not happen. He says that he told me school was cancelled a bunch of times, and I just mumbled a lot and didn't respond. One of us was dreaming... the only question is - who? (It was definitely me.)

Then there was a dream about zombies, as usual. (I'm starting to run out of google image pictures to use so this one is myself and my brother from last year.)

I was with some people that I now don't remember. One of them was an older, kind of sexy guy. We were running around a maze-like area. The zombie apocalypse had already started, and occasionally (but not often at first) a comically slow-moving zombie would stumble out from behind a door or wall and one of us would kill it.

I didn't have to start killing zombies until one point near the end when we had picked up a few other people and suddenly, a group of zombies began surrounding us. I had a long knife in my hand, which I drove through several zombies' heads, somehow defying human anatomy by stabbing it straight through their skulls, when any good zombie assassin knows that the only way one can effectively stab a zombie through the head is through the eye. (This has been an inaccuracy in another zombie dream previously - remember the pens through the foreheads?)

Anyway, these zombies were kind of strange looking, they just looked like they had gross rashes on their faces instead of horrifically decomposed and bloody like the stereotypical zombie. (American Zombie style, rather than Dawn of the Dead.)

This post kind of makes me feel like I'm a zombie aficianado. I'm getting there. I still had to google how to spell "aficianado," though. It started out as "efficianado."

Break-up Dream.

It's official. Boyfriend and I have broken up. He will be referred to henceforth as Ex-Boyfriend.

Fortunately, I've already re-bounded in my dreams. Last night I had a wonderful dream about a guy who used to go to my school several years ago. I don't know him personally but I know about him and find him devilishly handsome. ;)

He was a tuba player at my high school long ago, and his photo is up on the All-State/MYAF wall. His picture is the first one, mine is the last.

In my dream, I was in a class that may have been financial management, because it resembled Ms. B's room, but there were subtle differences. Scott (the tuba player in question) showed up in our class and sat down at my table - apparently he had to make up a high school credit. (Which is weird because he's been out of high school for several years.)

Anyway, we were chatting and flirting a little bit, and I was getting a lot of positive signals. In the dream, he just had a girlfriend. In real life, I'm pretty sure he's married. Either way, he mentioned something about growing apart from his girlfriend and things just got more friendly between us.

He had a reputation in our class for only showing up to school occasionally, but once we started hanging out he came to class every day. I was gearing up to make a move (having nothing else to lose) when that part of the dream ended.

Then there was a little part at the end where we were in jazz band, but my old old band director was teaching it and my friend Laura, who played tenor sax in the jazz band two years ago, was back to visit.

For some reason I was trying to play tenor sax even though I'm a bari sax player, and was failing miserably. We were playing "Get it On" which has a pretty important bari part and I don't know why I was playing tenor, but I gave up quickly and just sat around for the rest of the song because I couldn't remember where my bari sax was.

Mmm... cheese.

This dream is actually a few weeks old, I just forgot to record it.

I dreamed that I woke up at 4 in the morning for school. I made myself a really delicious-looking breakfast after several attempts to use our old toaster, then went to school, still holding my plate of food.

I went into Mr. Super's classroom with my food and asked him if I could use some of his cheese. There were several blocks of cheese sitting on the tables in the front of the classroom, as well as a cheese grater.

He said yes, and also insisted on making me pancakes, since he was already making pancakes for his classes.

After I ate breakfast, I left Mr. Super's room and almost tripped over my father, who was lying on the floor in the hallway. Apparently he had thrown out his back while mentoring the robotics team.

The end.

Disregarding the dress code.

I don't remember much about this dream, but there's this.

I was supposed to be picking up my friend John for school, which I didn't really want to do and I was anxious about being on time, (as usual) and I saw him walking out of his house but realized suddenly that I was wearing nothing but a grey v-neck t-shirt, underwear, and neon yellow fishnets.

It was really awkward.

Scary dream.

I keep dreaming about my friend who has anorexia. It's probably because I'm so worried about her.

The dream started out as Toy Story, actually, which was fun. The toys were in the big toy box all chattering and moving around, but then we heard Andy coming and had to shut up quickly. I was a full-grown person, not a toy, but I apparently knew that they were alive, so I was trying to put them back in their places as quickly as possible before Andy got there.

Quickly shifts to me at EMU, trying to find the flute sectionals and instead getting very, very lost on campus and never making it where I'm supposed to be going. Also, I've taken a horse from the stables and put it in the entryway of a building on campus and am actively trying to find someone who can help me put it back as the dream progresses. Typical anxiety dream material.

Then the serious shit starts. My mom tells me that my friend with anorexia has died. She stopped taking her medicine because she was being stubborn and she had a heart attack. I didn't even have time to process this before my friend's father shows up, which was unexpected. He is a family friend of ours. I tried to give him a hug and said, "I'm so sorry," but he acted as though he didn't know what I was talking about.
I thought maybe I had found out about his daughter's death before he had, which is awful.

Thankfully, the dream ended there, but I'm still anxious to go check facebook and make sure my friend is still alive. (I know it's stupid to think the dream is true. But it was very real.)
